This research paper employs Aglaonema ‘Stardust,’ a variety of Chinese Evergreen plants recognized for their air-purifying properties, to tackle issues of water scarcity. This research presents an IoT-based monitoring and irrigation system designed for greenhouse environments, focusing on accurately determining water requirements and ensuring optimal growth conditions. This system utilizes microcontrollers for the collection and analysis of data in real-time. This study involved a thirty-day drip irrigation experiment conducted in a greenhouse with four Aglaonema plants. Three of the plants were integrated into an IoT system, maintaining varying soil moisture levels between 45% and 75%, while one plant was irrigated manually. Our findings indicated that a soil moisture level of 55%-65% exhibited enhanced water efficiency, utilizing approximately 2.6 times less water. The study aims to improve horticultural productivity and sustainability by integrating IoT with drip irrigation, specifically focusing on ornamental plants such as Aglaonema.
